You can learn alone or work in pairs. No experience necessary!

Things are hopping here at The Mouse Pad. We've been open four weeks and the news is getting out. We're listening to our customers and making improvements!

Digital Scrapbooking - By early September, all the pieces will be in place for us to offer mentoring, work time, and parties for this greatest of new trends. Experience the creativity and fun of scrapbooking with friends with greater flexibility, the ability to backup and reuse your page designs, work far more quickly, and avoid the mess! New Prices & Passes - You spoke, we listened. You asked for passes whose time would not expire in one month and we're giving that to you. We're adding flex-passes in 5 hour increments (5, 10, 15, and 20 hour flex passes). With these new passes (available for either the lab or cafe machines), your time won't expire after 30 days. Stretch your study or work time out for as many months as you'd like. As you might expect, we built in discounted rates the more hours you buy..... and the seniors and the students pay a little less than normal adult rates.

On September 1, we'll implement new hourly prices for student lab time. I guess we aimed a bit high to start with. We'll now offer students under 21 an hourly rate of just $10 and there is additional discounts with the flex-passes. We REALLY want to see students in here brushing up on science, math, history skills, PC skills, personal skills..... oh, yeah, and having fun with the games.

New Party Rates - With all of that new pricing, we'll also have to adjust the Party Rates! Since either teens or adults might be holding the parties, it could get complicated. Instead, we'll just let the party host play for free. So, invite 7 or more of your best friends for a party, and you will play for free. What a great way to celebrate your birthday or some other great event!

New Classes - We have NEW COURSEWARE to help you learn Photoshop 7 or Photoshop CS, Quickbooks, and Quark (wasn't he a guy on Star Trek???). We'll soon have some fabulous tutorial books for Paint Shop Pro. And...... shhhh....... there is more coming. Keep an eye on this news page for new learning modules with instructors.

Email Newsletter - When you purchase a pass at The Mouse Pad, we are adding you to our email newsletter list. We haven't started it up yet, but we're collecting names. If you want to be a part of it, be sure to scroll to the BOTTOM of this News page and sign up or update your profile.

CD Burning - We now offer CD burning here at The Mouse Pad and have blank CD's for sale at the front desk. This is a great way to create a custom music CD (we can show you how) or save digital photos.

Game Nights - Our first freestyle game night on Saturday, August 21st, was tons of fun and we finally closed up just after 11 p.m. We hope to do these once or twice a month. Check with the front desk for the upcoming dates and keep an eye on our Game Night page! We're working on VERY special plans for September 18th - keep checking the website for news. We're also now a member of igames.org, so you can register as a gamer there and keep tabs on game events here.

Lastly.......

Saturday CyberCamps - We are working on plans to offer Saturday afternoons for teen tech training on great topics like 3D Animation, Game Design, Video Editting, and others. We are wondering what the interest level would be. Call to talk to Thene or Roger if you'd like to be involved.

We had a GREAT Grand Opening! 

On Friday, the Cool Springs Chamber and about 40 friends joined us for an official ribbon-cutting and reception at The Mouse Pad.  Everyone had a chance to tour the center and sample the technology.  Thanks to all of you who played a part in making the center a reality. 

 
On Saturday, we officially opened the doors.  All the technology was free to try out and we had a steady stream of customers taking advantage of it.  We created our first customer accounts and sold our first Mouse Pad t-shirt.  We took in many suggestions from our guests, several of which will be implemented immediately. 

This next week, we'll be running a New Account Special.
